I haven’t used this product before but my acne is not improving even at 20weeks. Has anyone taken this during pregnancy? Is the cleanser better than the serum?

I havnt asked my dr about it but online it says not to use salicylic acid during pregnancy. My acne is unreal and so wish I could use it

ACOG is a great resource. It’s what almost every OB will reference. Topical salicylic acid listed as safe, but you can read about other options too on this page

can you go to the dermatologist? My acne was absolutely horrible with my first pregnancy, my ob only wanted me to use azealic acid which didn’t help. Since then i saw a dermatologist and she put me on clindamycin phosphate gel once a day. My OB this time (dif doctor) said it’s fine since its topical so I’ve continued it and it’s thankfully helping keep my skin in better shape.

@KatieJune2,
I’ve never been to a dermatologist. I’m not sure if Tricare covers it but I can ask. Thanks

Hi! Went to the dermatologist and she confirmed OTC salicylic acid face wash is fine to use during pregnancy a few times a week. She also prescribed Azelaic acid 15% and have been using a gentle cleanser when not using my salicylic acid face wash

It is totally fine since it has such a low percentage included. Bio oil technically has “bad ingredients” too but it’s not harmful given the percentage of “bad” ingredients

I read if you have an excessive amount of biotin in your prenatal it causes skin breakouts.
