Blossom, a Chicago-based wellness company, is seeking an eager Sales and Marketing Associate to join our team this summer. This part-time role offers a unique opportunity to work on the ground floor of a growing start-up, and lead brand activation events across the Chicagoland area, including farmers markets, in-store samplings, artisan markets, and more. If you’re passionate about sales, marketing, and wellness, and are excited about the opportunity to share the word about Blossom’s products, we’d love to hear from you.
Here's what you need to know about the gig:
- Flexibility galore: work as much or as little as you want - no need to commit to every single weekend all summer long.
- Competitive compensation: you'll earn a combo of hourly pay + commissions, amounting to $23-39/hour depending on sales volumes. Average hourly earnings are $24/hour.
- Weekends: Events are on Saturday and Sunday mornings
- Hours: Event hours range from 4-8 hours, but most are around 4 hours - just enough time to soak up the sun and enjoy the sights.
- You have to have wheels! A car or access to one is a must.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Problem-Solving, Self-Motivated, Reliable, Strong Communication Skills, Resilient to Rejection, Valid Driver's License, Access to a car, Ability to Lift 40 lbs, and an Eagerness to Learn.
Responsibilities:
- Train with leadership to understand the product, sales pitch, and sales process.
- If you don’t own a vehicle, you will commute to Uhaul to pick up a van, and then commute to our warehouse to pick up materials and inventory for the event.
- You should plan on arriving at the event 30 minutes before it’s scheduled to begin to set up.
- At the event, you’ll set up the tent, table, inventory, and signage, prepare samples and connect the card reader for sales.
- You’ll offer free samples to everyone that walks past the booth.
- You’ll educate people about our brand mission, product benefits, superfoods, and directions for use.
- You’ll process orders and collect the customer’s name and email via our Shopify POS system.
- At the end of the market, you’ll break down the booth, organize it neatly, deliver it to our warehouse, and drop off the Uhaul van (if you don’t have your own vehicle).
Compensation: $15/hour + 7.5% commission on net sales (historically amounts to a blended $25-35/hour depending on sales volumes).

We worked with functional medicine doctors and food scientists to develop instant oat milk latte mixes infused with superfoods to support energy, focus, stress, and sleep support.
